Introduction to the Nation’s First Micro-Drama Filming Base — “Linying Studio”

Planned jointly by the Linping District People’s Government, Zai Shui Yi Fang, and the “Damei Linzhuo” Fund, and with an investment of nearly 100 million RMB, the modern drama production platform “Linying Studio” is the nation’s first dedicated micro-drama filming base. Since its debut at the end of 2023, Linying Studio has hosted over 800 production teams, leading a wave of industrial ecosystem development in China’s film and television bases and pioneering new production workflows and operational standards.

The base covers a total planned area of 100,000 square meters. Currently, it consists of Phase I and II indoor real-set studios totaling 20,000 square meters, an 8,000-square-meter outdoor street set, a 4,500-square-meter professional studio, and an 1980s-style outdoor real-set area. Supporting facilities within the park include staff dormitories, hotels, restaurants and shopping streets, prop warehouses, post-production studios, digital asset studios, professional training studios for film and TV, and an actors’ guild. These facilities allow for simultaneous work and living accommodations for nearly 1,000 people, enabling fully self-contained production operations within the park.

To date, Linying Studio has hosted over 400 long- and short-form drama projects. It has been recognized as a key provincial audiovisual industry project, received municipal cultural and creative funding, and earned honors such as ranking among the top ten national micro-drama bases in the “Golden Peng Index” and being named an Outstanding Organization at the first Micro-Audiovisual Arts Festival.
